Preferences

Please tell us your preference regarding what type of patient you would like to be assigned to, (gender, religion, etc.). Note - we do not know the ethnicity of our recipients, please do not state any sort of racial preference. Give this question some serious consideration! We want you to be happy with your assignment. Important: Although we do accept children into our program, the majority of our patients are adults over the age of 35. If you are too specific in your preference, it will mean a longer wait for your assignment.

Minimum Age! I understand I have to be at least 25 years of age to participate in this program as a Card Angel. yes, I am 25 years of age or older.

Sending Weekly! I understand the commitment is to send to my patient at least once a week   yes, I understand.

Long term commitment! Being a Card Angel is a serious commitment! If you have health, financial, or personal issues that might interfere with your angeling, please refrain from signing up at this time. There are many other ways you can help. Can you assure us that you are in this for the long haul, have given it a lot of thought, and are not entering into this lightly?   yes to all

One way street! Chemo Angels is not a pen pal program! Although some of our patients enjoy corresponding with their Angel, most are simply not able to. Recipients or their contact people are required to check in with Chemo Angels administration on a monthly basis. They are told from the start that they do not need to respond directly to their Angel. Please do not expect to hear from your patient directly.   yes, I understand that I might not hear from my patient, and that my commitment is to continue angeling regardless.

Absolutely no advertising! Do you agree not to use this program for any means of advertising, soliciting, evangelizing, or anything else of that nature?   yes, I agree.

International. Could you, or would you like to, "adopt" a patient from a country other than your own?  Attention non-U.S. Angels! If you request a patient from your own country, your wait may be longer than average.   yes, I would like to angel a patient from another country!   no, only assign me to somebody from my own country.

Are you fluent in any language other than English? Please specify...

Hobbies/Interests. Use the following box to share with us your hobbies, interests, etc. This will help us make the most compatible match for you.

Children? Tell us if you have any young children or grandchildren you are close to. We may be able to make a better match for you if we know their ages, boys or girls, etc.

Your interest in Chemo Angels. Please tell us briefly in the box below why you want to be a Card Angel. This is an important question. Please do not skip it!

Religion/Spirituality. If religion/spirituality is important in your life, please tell us which religion or brand of spirituality  so we can make the best match for both, you and your future buddy. Although you may not care what religion your recipient is, they often feel most comfortable being assigned to an Angel with similar beliefs.

How did you hear about us?                 

We have a YahooGroup for Angels. It is a place where Angels can  share "angeling" tips with each other, ask questions, etc. When your assignment is made, you will be automatically subscribed to this group, and we ask all Angels to stay subscribed. Thank you!
